Game Of Shadows...

Hey people!
How's your lectures and all so far? Or should I say how's the adapting process going on? >.<

Ok, so today was my first day of lecture and tutorial which marked my first day of lesson...
It was ok, kinda boring but I guess it should get better.... *fingers crossed

Anyway, I just watched one of the 'movies you have to watch this year' which is Sherlock Holmes : A Game of Shadows

Ok, to be honest, the first one was slightly better and by the way, I so hated the *spoiler alert!!* abrupt departure of Rachel McAdams AKA Irene Adler.
She was so great in the first movie and I love her character!

Other then that, the good points are it was enjoyable and I love the way the plot goes, though you really have to pay attention to it. It really shows the bromance between Sherlock and Dr. Watson and the funny bits are funny enough. As usual, Robert Downey is just cool and he showed his emotions carefully as Sherlock would not be carried away in his emotions for long. The appearance of Stephen Fry as Mycroft Holmes was entertaining though not really appealing.
Noomi Rapace as the gypsy girl was the female fatale here. She played her role nicely but there is just no comparing between her and McAdams.

The thing that I think is quite annoying is the many unnecessary special effects of slowing down the scenes. It kinda reminds me of Matrix and no, that is not a compliment. Robert Downey Jr. did put his own twist in portraying Sherlock but sometimes it kinda deviates a lot from the Sherlock that we know from the books. So, maybe not all of the fans of the books would have been happy with his portrayal of Sherlock.

So, generally, it is good but it could have been better.
I rate it 3.5/5 stars.

Lastly, I do hope that people would give it a try though maybe it is not everyone's cup of tea. ;)
